Crendon are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded Hopkins Homes: Quality Assurance Award for Supplier of the Year 2025, recognising our outstanding service in quality, delivery, response and technical expertise.

Presented at their annual Supply Chain Conference, the award came as a complete surprise and celebrates our exceptional quality of work with minimal reportable incidents. The trophy was gratefully received on behalf of Crendon Timber Engineering by Alan Richardson.

This accolade is the result of a long and determined journey. When Crendon’s East Harling factory opened in 2016, Hopkins Homes were identified as a key strategic target. Over time, East Harling became a major supplier, supporting over 60% of their sites as they scaled up housebuilding.

The Covid pandemic and resulting inflationary pressures saw Hopkins shift their procurement elsewhere. This meant an overnight loss of over £1 million in orderbook. However, Crendon’s teams remained focused. We continued to deliver for other customers and upheld our service levels. And when our competitors failed to meet expectations, the door reopened. Hopkins asked Crendon to return and our newly formed Wellingborough branch supported the business going forward. 

In 2022, Hopkins was acquired by the same group as Tilia Homes, and once again we faced competitive tendering and undervaluation. But thanks to Graeme Tasker’s technical leadership and Alan Richardson’s relationship-building, Crendon were given the opportunity to design Roof Trusses for their new Part-L compliant standard house type range. After 18 months of design, technical support, and value engineering, Crendon earned deep respect across Hopkins, not just from the buying team, but from their technical and site leadership teams.

Since then, Crendon have secured every traditional build project with them based on trust, service and reputation, a true testament to our resilience, skill and commitment. This award recognises every part of the customer journey, sales, design, production and delivery. Thank you to everyone involved and well done.
