For all your Timber Engineering Solutions

We supplied the curved Glulam portal frames for Network Rail’s new Maintenance Delivery Unit (MDU) at Barnetby-le-Wold, a striking two-storey, 9,500 sq ft building designed to balance structural performance with architectural quality.

Glulam timber arches being installed at a construction site, workers on lifts and stacked beams under a cloudy sky.

The project features curved Glulam portals, shaped ridge beams, and Glulam eaves beams, creating an expressive timber structure that enhances both the internal environment and the building’s sustainability credentials.

Working closely with the project team, we manufactured precision-engineered Glulam components that helped reduce embodied carbon while delivering a warm, natural aesthetic and efficient long-span performance.

This project demonstrates how Glulam can support modern infrastructure through sustainable design, engineering precision, and visual impact.
